Big Yellow

nico71 is gradually becoming a Technic star of the Brickshelf. Shortly after his excellent 400-bricks-only wheel loader we described not long ago, he comes up again, this time with an impressive model of a big mining excavator based on Komatsu PC300, that amazes with skillful blend of great functionality and moderate size.

What hides beneath this yellow surface? Subtractor-driven chassis, superstructure rotated with a motor, plus an internal compressor that drives V6 piston motor too. The digging arm consists of three pneumatic circuits, steered from an external controller. Note the consistent, deliberate look of the model, preserving a very ‘techicish’ stylistics, that could easily rival the official Lego sets. Nico is a quick, adept builder that will surely appear again on our blog.

Sorry for the really nice model, but I think I would prefer its Komatsu-Original Big Brother..
