About Klocki staff

Meet the team of writers at Klocki:

Hippotam

Hippotam’s thumbnailHippotam started Klocki in January 2007, a year after he came up from almost 18 years long Dark Age. He builds mostly castle and space, but enjoys something different from time to time. He’s a member of Lugpol, BuildersLounge and Portugese Forum0937.Hippotam is based in Krakow, Poland, happily married (sorry, groupies), with two kids. He earns money for his bricks working as a software quality manager. You can visit Hippotam’s gallery at Brickshelf or Flickr and read interview at Portal0937 or at Klocki.

Nexus7

Nexus ThumbnailNexus7 (no worries, he’s a human) is a master of modular houses, as you can guess looking at his gallery. He’s very active in the Polish AFOL community, most of you probably heard about the contests he runs at Lugpol: Brick Transport Tycoon and Policemen and Thieves.Nexus joined Klocki so long time ago that it seems like he was always in the team. He lives in Memphis, Tennessee (S@H and no VAT, lucky guy) and works as a logistic uberboss for a company with the word “Games” in the name. Because of the time difference, Nexus can write articles when the rest of the staff sleep, so we can proudly say that we’re open 24/7!

Sariel

Sariel’s thumbnailSome time ago, there was a debate about Technic being ignored at Klocki. There was one reader, the loudest shouter who demanded more technical articles and creations. So we did the only thing we could do, we invited him onboard! That’s how Sariel joined writers team.Sariel is our technic guru, he knows almost everyting about the mysterious world of motors, gears and bricks with holes. He’s Technic mod at Lugpol, skilled constructor and great populariser of this part of our hobby.Sariel is based in Warsaw, Poland. He works as a webdesigner at the major Polish radio station. You can see his creations at Brickshelf or even better, at YouTube, because Technic creations should be seen in action.

Evildead

In April 2008 we realized that three languages are better than two (yes, sounds obvious, but it took us a month to figure it out). Hopefully, there was a brave man who not only understands what we are trying to say in English, not only his mother tongue is the beautiful language of Portuguese, but also has one of the coolest nicknames on earth. That’s how Evildead (Ricardo Silva) joined the team. He’s not only a translator, but also a writer, who keeps us informed on all interesting things taking place in Portuguese-spoken communities. After his Dark Age, Ricardo’s first contact with LEGO was a contest at Fórum 0937 that he won with his Ford Model T. In real life mister Evildead is ateacher and lives in Estarreja (Aveiro - Portugal). You can see his creations in Brickshelf.

Frax

FormulaA by FraxSince summer of 2007 Frax was nagging Hippo about every little typo or mistake in the articles at Klocki. Nicknamed “a spelling fascist” was offered a job as a proofreader, which he accepted. There may not yet be any article by Frax on the blog, but believe me - the whole site could not run without him. He’s the man in the shadow doing all the hard work, but just wait until he starts blogging…Frax lives in Szczecin (try to pronouce that), Poland and studies at high school.

Szww (correspondent)

szww.gifFor Szww LEGO bricks were one of that things that were around since the memories starts - Szww’s parents says that he created his first creation when he was 1 … the creation’s name was ‘bitten brick’.Although he got some ‘dark age’ periods when it goes to creating own constructions, he always stayed tuned for latest news/leaks from Billund… and that’s why he joined Klocki staff November 2007.Unfortunately working for your degree takes lots of time. That forced Szww to vacate and become less active staff member - a correspondent.Szww comes from Warsaw, Poland, but at the moment he is based (& doing his best :) ) in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
