City of Pula Wind Orchestra!
Before he left his hometown of Pula, Croatia, Matija Puzar used to play in it’s Wind Orchestra. Altough he’s now living in Norway, Matija is still technically a member of the band. To celebrate it’s 15th anniversary, Matija build an exact model of his orchestra:
Take a look at the wonderful brick-built instruments and custom torso stickers designed by Matija himself (who can be seen on this pic playing the bass drum).
KunstHaus Vien
Great model by Esben Kolind. KunstHaus museum in Vien in minifig scale. Just have a look at original and compare to the model.
The Flag
Today we have a National Flag Day in Poland - that’s why our logo is red-white.
As a nice coincidence, Mike Stimpson (featured recently) posted another recreation of the famous photo - this time this a “Raising the flag on Iwo Jima”:
Here’s the original, by Joe Rosenthal / The Associated Press:
Contorted
Nannan Z. of Brothers Bricks continues his series of surrealistic/symbolic sculptures with the newest one, named “Contortion”
As usual, I won’t tell you what’s going one here, have fun and try to figure it out yourself or read the Nannan’s description on MOCpages.

Amnesty International plays with bricks. Poorly…
Amnesty International seems to have a new ad campain at Poland. A few newspapers published this:

The text reads “Death penalty is still used in 69 countries. You have a right not to agree with it. Death is not a play”.
I am strongly against capital punishment and support AI, but using LEGO bricks in this ad simply ruins this campaign for me.

Mike Stimpson, UK photographer recreates the world’s famous photograpth with LEGO bricks. The latest photo in his collection is a famous shot of a man trying to stop a tank column leaving the Tiananman Square, day after the massacre:

Original photo was shot by Jeff Widener (The Associated Press), but I remember mostly the moving TV clip:
I encourage our younger readers to google up this event. If you understand what happen back then, you will understand better what happens today about the Olympics.
(Jormungund, thanks for the heads-up!)
More LEGO Art from Udronotti
It’s been almost a year since we featured LEGO creations by Udronotti. I’m glad to report that he (she?) continues to legolize the famous paintings. Here’s his version of Jan Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl Earing:
And the Arnolfini Portrait by Jan Van Eyck:
