Meet the Fish Monster

Aaron Andrews (DARKspawn) presents a small diorama where three pirates meet the fish monster.

Fish Monster

It is the monster that makes the scene great. I particularly like the teeth coming up from the water, huge eyes and clever use of green parts.

Who can take out a Mumak?

The deadline for Classic Castle’s Battles Contest (third edition) is over and the last entries was already submitted. Anyone who is at least a bit into Castle theme was wondering if Jens, the winner of the first edition would enter and what his creation would be. So, waiting is over, Jens has arrived with the Mumak:

The photos are a bit dark, but let this not stop you from some spending time examining the details:

Can you find Legolas and Gimli in this crowd? (Gallery isn’t public again, probably new photos are coming)

New species discovered in Elche, Spain

Breaking news: New species discovered in Elche, Spain!

Jesús Delgado, Spanish AFOL, cartoonist and biologist discovered a new, mysterious species of unknown origin. The creatures named Panacotos seem to settle on Jesús’ desk. Thanks to that, he was able to record a few movies that shed some light on the bizarre rituals of Panacotos:

There are also static photos of Panacotos in Jesús’ gallery and a lively discussion at Hispalug forum.

Zoo animals by Count Blockula

Mike Crowley a.k.a. Count Blocula builds up zoo animals collection. From the couple of models, my favorites are:

the lobster:

and a moose:

The common pattern in both models are non-standard use of minifig arms. Head over to Mike’s gallery to see more.

Boozer has always luck

Piotrek Builder is a winner of Polish community Golden Stud 2007 award for a ‘Rising Star’ category. His latest creation is an entry for a Battle Contest on Classic Castle. Rather unique, because one side of the conflict is a dragon:

Boozer is always lucky

For me, the best is the dragon itself, it reminds me a bit Izzo’s works from 2007 and the idea of making the drunkard the main protagonist of the scene. Piotrek, good luck in the contest!

Latte Latte, Bark Bark?

I love creations picturing the wild fantasies produced by the author’s mind. For a long time I stare at this thing by tokahamada:

Latte latte bark bark?

Is seems to be a crossbreed of a bottle of “latte latte” milk drink and a dog:

Bottledog obviously have two sub-species: “milk coffee” and “cafe latte” (btw. I wonder what’s the difference?). Anyway, I like the idea of pluggable cup section.

Year of the Rat

In Japan, 2008 is a Year of the Rat. That’s why there are so many rat & mice related creations in Japanese galleries these days. A lot of such beauties were featured by Brothers Brick , but the most wonderful was published yesterday. MisaQa presented serie of sweeeet mice!
