Last Stand on Argoth

I might not be able to tell stormtrooper from clonetrooper but I can recognize a good SW creation. Here’s one.

Last Stand On Argoth

Eurobricks member Pedro created this for a SW contest held there. Creation was voted the winner of a “bignette” category.

Port Antonio

Here’s my latest work: Port Antonio.

It’s a Pirate Port and it’s called Port Antonio. This is due to my trip to Jamaica (honeymoon) where the city of Port Antonio is located. There wasn’t a pirate port there (but there was a big one in Port Royal), but I liked the name, so I adapted it to my creation..

This port has a Inn with a bar, two bedrooms and also a warehouse with a working crane. All the roofs can be pullout and the rooms can also be detached. This turns the MOC even more playable.

Even the pirates need to take a bath once in a while…

Poohsticks

SlyOwl  portrays the servants of evil playing the poohsticks. Cute:

Puerto Rodrego… Never will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villany

SlyOwl explores the Pirate theme with this very interesting Puerto Rodrego diorama:

Puerto Rodrego

We can see some great details here;

  • The shed’s roof done with the tread links
  • Domestic violence scene
  • Ingenious pipes smoked by gentelmen inside the building
  • Wavy water!
  • Seagulls
  • And I wonder what that guy will be doind with the sheep….

BTW,  I have stolen the title of this post from Eurobricks….

EDIT: I turns out that “Scum and villainy” phrase is actually a quote from Star Wars!

The Millyard Experience

Ever since I saw the photos of the Millyard Project exposition I wanted to go there. Unfortunately, this largest minifig-size LEGO object in the world is located in Manchester, NH, USA which is on the other side of the ocean. And I’ve got a loooong way to the closer shore of the ocean. It seemed impossible to see it.

Millyard

But even the wildest dreams come true.  Recently I went to US for business and realized that my company’s office is located in the building just next to the SEE Science Center! I forfeited my lunch break and spent some time just staring at the beautiful streets of Amoskeag.

I shot a lot of pictures, so I invite you to take a virtual tour of the Millyard. And remember to see it in person, when possible.

Jojo’s Magic Forest

Jojo (Johannes Koehler) is one of the stars of the German AFOL community. He does not spoil us with frequent creations, but once he shows something it is always worth looking at. Here’s Gronlif the Wizard and its magic forest:

Easter Island under attack

Rocko presents a new diorama: Easter Island crew is defending itself from the attack of sea monkeys. Beautifully nonsensical.

Klocki-Zdroj 2008

During the recent Kielce 2008 event, LUGPol’s AFOLs put together a nice diorama of small city (Klocki-Zdroj). Two blocks of houses, rail station, park, biker’s inn, industrial zone and many more, including even a baloon flying over the rooftops.

Head over to the project official site to read more about it and see a lot of pictures.

Meet the Fish Monster

Aaron Andrews (DARKspawn) presents a small diorama where three pirates meet the fish monster.

Fish Monster

It is the monster that makes the scene great. I particularly like the teeth coming up from the water, huge eyes and clever use of green parts.

Rafting Surprise

Lugpol’s Zgrredek (eng. Grrumpy) is going to river rafting during the summer holidays. He says there only this on his mind right now, so what else could he build?

Rafting

I like how the water flows over the fallen tree. The cliff is also great: with very clever use od dark tan and these falling tree roots!

Have a nice rafting, Zgrredek!
